Staff Software Engineer, Backend In-Car Experience at Waymo

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join Waymo's In-Car Experience team. This role focuses on building the backend systems and APIs that power the rider experience in autonomous vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• →Design and build scalable backend services and APIs (gRPC/Protobuf) that power in-car features
• →Architect high-availability systems for real-time synchronization between cloud and vehicle fleet
• →Work with Android client engineers, Product Managers, and Vehicle Software teams
• →Optimize data pipelines for low-latency delivery
• →Manage the full software development life-cycle of backend services
