About the Role
Waymo is seeking a technical leader to join the Mapping team, responsible for building high-resolution maps to support autonomous driving. This role involves evaluating and launching machine learning models for map generation and developing backend infrastructure for data storage and processing.
Key Responsibilities
- →Evaluate and launch machine learning models that automatically generate map from raw data
- →Work with onboard teams to evolve Waymo’s mapping format to make it more automation friendly
- →Apply statistical analysis to validate large-scale changes
- →Build backend infrastructure for storing and processing many forms of map data
Requirements
- ✓Experienced technical leader with > 7 years of total experience
- ✓Experience with statistical analysis
- ✓Experience with large-scale data processing using frameworks like Google Data Flow or Apache Beam
- ✓Proven track record of leading a team to solve difficult technical challenges
- ✓Willingness to own problems end-to-end and work on various parts of the system
- ✓A passion for good software engineering
