About the Role
We are looking for a Performance Engineer to join our Platform Engineering group at Weave. You will be responsible for architecting frameworks, CI/CD integrations, and self-service tooling that make performance validation invisible, automated, and easy for every developer.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign and develop a scalable, self-service performance testing framework using tools like k6 or Locust
- βWrite production-grade code (Go/Python) to abstract away infrastructure complexity
- βEmbed performance gates directly into deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI)
- βAnalyze third-order effects in distributed systems and help debug interactions between services
- βCreate documentation, reference implementations, and "Golden Paths" for developer enablement
Requirements
- β5+ years of experience writing backend code (Go, Python, or Java)
- βExperience building tools for other developers with a platform mindset
- βDeep experience with load, stress, and scalability testing
- βComfortable working with Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud infrastructure
- βExperience with script-as-code tools (k6, Locust) preferred over UI-based tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
