As a Backend Software Engineer, you will design and implement tools that integrate seamlessly with hardware processes, delivering impactful solutions to WHOOP’s engineering teams.</p> </div> RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design and build backend solutions to support hardware development, bringing data to those who need it with robust backend systems. • Create tools that integrate with hardware equipment like environmental chambers, oscilloscopes, and other engineering devices. • Develop APIs and services to enhance connectivity across hardware workflows. • Automate and maintain high-throughput data pipelines to provide real-time insights to engineering teams. • Collaborate with cross-functional hardware teams to identify and address pain points in development workflows. • Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with WHOOP’s mission to deliver innovative hardware solutions. QUALIFICATIONS: • Proficiency in Python for backend development, with experience designing APIs and building distributed systems. • Experience with data pipelines, database systems, and tool integration for hardware workflows. • A collaborative mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced, feedback-driven environment. • Interest in or exposure to hardware development processes, with a willingness to learn. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a strong sense of ownership. • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions. • Bonus: experience building front-end applications using frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular. The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 - $175,000 Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training. In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package. These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
