<p>As an SDET II, you will own the design and implementation of automated testing solutions across features and services. You will play a key role in improving test frameworks, increasing system reliability, and driving quality best practices across the team.</p>
<p>This role is suited for engineers who can work independently, contribute to system-level quality improvements, and influence testing strategy. Youβll tackle hard testing problems, eliminate flakiness, influence architecture for testability, and raise the quality bar across teams. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Test Automation & Framework Development

Design, implement, and maintain scalable automated test solutions and/or tooling
β’
Extend and improve test frameworks to enhance reliability, maintainability, and performance
β’
Translate product requirements into comprehensive and effective test strategies
β’
Ensure test code is clean, reusable, and aligned with engineering best practices
Quality Engineering
β’
Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively address them
β’
Advocate for and implement best practices in testing and quality
β’
Reduce flaky tests and improve CI/CD pipeline stability
β’
Contribute to reducing technical debt in test infrastructure
Scoping & Execution
β’
Independently scope, plan, and execute testing efforts for projects
β’
Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure features are testable
β’
Deliver high-quality test solutions with minimal oversight
Operational Excellence

Debug complex issues across test and application layers
β’
Instrument systems and tests to provide meaningful quality metrics
Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate cross-functionally to define and uphold quality standards

Communicate trade-offs between speed, coverage, and reliability

Share learnings and improvements with the broader team
Mentorship & Influence

Provide guidance and code review feedback to other engineers

Contribute to team-wide improvements in testing practices and tooling

Help elevate overall quality standards within the team
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
β’
2+ years of experience in software development, test automation, or related field
β’
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or Java are a plus)
β’
Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD systems (Appium is a plus)

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 - $175,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidateβs specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the roleβs requirements.
