About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our People Apps and Automations team at Wolt. This role involves building innovative tools and scalable solutions that enhance the employee experience in a global tech company.
Key Responsibilities
- →Contribute to designing, building, and maintaining applications that support the employee lifecycle.
- →Support the development and evolution of our proprietary automation engine and internal full-stack applications.
- →Work closely with senior engineers to implement new features and improve existing systems while learning engineering best practices.
- →Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Wolt to understand their needs and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- →Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in a modern production environment.
- →Document your work and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- →Participate in code reviews and actively seek feedback to accelerate your growth.
- →Help identify opportunities to improve employee workflows through automation as we scale.
Requirements
- ✓2-3 years of experience in software engineering (internships, academic projects, or professional experience).
- ✓A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals (data structures, APIs, databases, system design basics).
- ✓Familiarity with Python and/or modern web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, React).
- ✓Basic understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- ✓Curiosity about automation, internal tooling, and how technology can improve everyday work.
- ✓Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- ✓Clear communication skills and fluency in English.
- ✓A collaborative mindset and openness to feedback.
- ✓Willingness to grow within a scaling, international tech company based in Helsinki.
