About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable Backend Engineer (Python) with 7+ years of experience to join our team. This individual contributor role focuses on developing, designing, and optimizing scalable backend services and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI
- →Design, optimize, and manage complex database schemas and queries in PostgreSQL
- →Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code, adhering to engineering best practices
- →Analyze existing backend code and implement improvements, new features, and performance enhancements
- →Independently analyze and debug complex backend issues, devise robust technical solutions
- →Participate in technical design sessions and translate product requirements into backend specifications
- →Implement scalable, fault-tolerant microservices architecture and event-driven systems
- →Implement comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure high code coverage
- →Work with DevOps principles, using Docker and Kubernetes to automate deployment
- →Collaborate with Product Managers and Frontend teams to define API contracts
- →Create and maintain clear technical documentation for system architecture
Requirements
- ✓7+ years of professional experience focused primarily on backend software development
- ✓Deep expertise in Python and FastAPI (or similar async framework)
- ✓Mastery of PostgreSQL including complex query writing, schema design, and optimization
- ✓Strong practical experience designing and implementing Microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems
- ✓Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker)
- ✓Demonstrated ability to contribute to complex system design and solve technical challenges independently
