Our vision: A world where everyone is free to focus on their most purposeful work, together.
About the Role:
The Senior People Operations Specialist (APAC) is the primary operational owner for Wrike’s India workforce and a key execution partner for People Operations across APAC, including Japan and Australia. This role strengthens the operational backbone of Wrike by ensuring that employee lifecycle processes, payroll operations, benefits administration, and compliance practices are accurate, scalable, and employee-centric across multiple jurisdictions, with particular depth in India’s regulatory and payroll environment.
Your Impact:
• Employee Lifecycle Execution:
• Lead end-to-end employee lifecycle processes across India, Japan, and Australia (onboarding, internal mobility, compensation changes, leave transitions, and offboarding).
• Ensure all lifecycle changes are accurately reflected in HR systems and aligned with payroll and compliance requirements.
• Partner with HRBPs, Payroll, Finance, IT, and local leadership to coordinate seamless transitions and deliver clear, timely employee communication.
• Identify friction points in lifecycle processes and implement scalable improvements.
• Payroll Ownership (APAC):
• Serve as the operational lead for payroll readiness across APAC, with deep ownership of India payroll complexity.
• Validate CTC structures, allowances, variable pay, overtime, and payroll-impacting changes, especially India statutory components.
• Monitor attendance integrations, shift data, and salary calculations to safeguard payroll accuracy.
• Maintain statutory deduction accuracy and monthly compliance requirements in India, while supporting alignment across Japan and Australia.
• Benefits, Leave & Wellness Programs:
• Administer and improve benefits and leave programs across APAC in line with local regulations and global standards.
• Manage country-specific health, retirement, insurance, and statutory leave programs in partnership with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for employees on benefits and leave, strengthening communication and education across regions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize processes while respecting local nuances.
• HR Governance, Compliance & Risk Stewardship:
• Ensure operational integrity and regulatory alignment across India, Japan, and Australia.
• Support audit readiness, regulatory reporting, and statutory documentation.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their operational impact.
• Maintain defensible documentation standards and system integrity in all People Ops processes.
• Process Optimization, Systems & AI-Enabled Operations:
• Continuously review and refine workflows to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
• Leverage HR systems and AI-enabled tools to automate routine processes, improve case management, and enhance employee self-service.
• Identify practical AI use cases for documentation, knowledge bases, reporting, and inquiry resolution.
• Use people data and operational metrics to inform improvements and support strategic decision-making.
Your Qualifications:
• Significant hands-on experience in People Operations/HR Operations with ownership of end-to-end employee lifecycle processes.
• Strong experience in payroll readiness and operations, particularly within India (CTC validation, statutory components, attendance integration, and payroll-impacting changes).
• Demonstrated understanding of how lifecycle accuracy impacts payroll, compliance, and employee trust.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver accurate and timely outcomes, and own work from start to finish.
• Experience working with HR systems and tools to support lifecycle, payroll, and benefits processes.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and compliance awareness across jurisdictions.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (HRBPs, Payroll providers, Finance, IT, local leadership) in a distributed environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Standout Qualities:
• Deep familiarity with India’s regulatory and payroll environment, and exposure to other APAC markets (e.g., Japan, Australia).
• Comfort using automation and AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, documentation, and service delivery.
• Strong systems and process-thinking mindset, with a bias toward simplification and scalability.
• High ownership and “doer” mentality—able to move work forward proactively and escalate thoughtfully when needed.
• Ability to balance statutory rigor with a human-centered employee experience.
• Quiet accountability: you fix issues, improve structure, and strengthen processes without needing constant oversight.
• Cultural agility and experience working across regions and time zones.
Team Dynamics:
You will operate as a highly hands-on individual contributor within Wrike’s global People Operations team. You will work closely with the People Ops Team Lead, Regional HRBPs, Payroll providers, Finance, IT, and local leadership in India, Japan, and Australia. The team culture values operational excellence, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on delivering consistent, high-quality employee experiences in a distributed, global environment.
Our Work Style:
Wrike’s People Operations team works in a global, distributed setup with a strong emphasis on structure, documentation, and scalable processes. You’ll use HR systems, case management tools, and AI-enabled solutions to streamline operations, reduce manual work, and empower employee self-service.
What sets this role apart is the combination of deep operational ownership in India, cross-regional impact across APAC, and the opportunity to shape how AI and automation are embedded into People Operations at scale.
