About the Role
We are looking for a Network Engineer to join Xero's PaaS Networks team. This role focuses on designing and maintaining critical cloud infrastructure patterns to enable secure software development at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and maintain cloud infrastructure patterns across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- →Develop automated infrastructure-as-code solutions
- →Manage complex routing and DNS services
- →Act as a technical mentor to product teams
- →Collaborate with security teams to ensure high standards of safety
- →Modernize connectivity by transitioning from Transit Gateway to Cloud WAN
- →Implement log aggregation and observability toolsets
- →Scale global DNS architecture and refine self-service capabilities
- →Automate multi-cloud environments using Terraform, Python, and CI/CD pipelines
Requirements
- ✓Deep technical proficiency in AWS networking, particularly with VPCs, Transit Gateways, and connectivity patterns
- ✓Strong background in infrastructure-as-code, specifically Terraform
- ✓Scripting skills in Python or Shell
- ✓Experience with observability platforms like New Relic or CloudWatch
- ✓Ability to translate legacy network setups into modern cloud architectures
- ✓Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders
