Responsibilities
Own the full product lifecycle for client-facing trading APIs.
Define product roadmap, requirements, technical specifications and success criteria.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure consistent API behavior and high performance across FIX, WebSocket, and HTTP interfaces.
Maintain API documentation, protocol guidelines and versioning standards.
Work closely with backend, trading engines and market data systems to ensure:
β’ Low-latency and reliable execution,
β’ API stability under high load,
β’ Backward compatibility and smooth client onboarding.
Support integration with client systems, liquidity providers, and trading partners.
Ensure adherence to compliance, trading workflows, and best execution requirements.
Monitor performance, usage, reliability to guide continuous improvement.
Communicate updates, roadmap status, and technical details to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
β’ 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in fintech or trading platforms.
β’ Extensive experience with trading APIs:
β’ FIX Protocol (order flow, execution reports, sessions).
β’ HTTP/REST and WebSocket APIs for trading, market data, static data.
β’ Experience working with trading bridges/gateways, liquidity providers and order routing systems.
β’ Strong understanding of order types, instrument types, execution logic and rejection handling.
β’ Practical experience creating and maintaining API documentation.
Domain Knowledge
β’ Trading experience is a strong advantage.
β’ Understanding of both traditional and crypto asset classes.
β’ Familiarity with OMS, EMS, market data, static data concepts.
β’ Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, best execution) is a plus.
β’ Understanding of risk checks is an advantage.
Collaboration & Process
β’ Ability to define product roadmaps, write structured technical specifications, set clear priorities.
β’ Proven experience working with cross-functional engineering teams in complex, multi-technology environments.
β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible way.
Additional Requirements
β’ Experience working with distributed or remote teams.
β’ Fluent English.
Nice to Have
β’ Integration experience with major exchanges or liquidity providers.
β’ Previous experience with trading APIs in a bank trading environment.
β’ Technical background in development or QA.
