About the Role
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Perception Verification and Validation team at Zoox. This role involves working on the perception stack of our autonomous driving system, developing datasets and metrics to quantify performance, and defining key performance metrics for perception engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Define key performance metrics to help perception engineers measure the impact of new features
- →Create and maintain datasets for evaluating the perception stack and end-to-end driving performance
- →Analyze large-scale metric results to identify patterns and insights about perception failure modes
- →Design and implement statistical methods to quantify uncertainty in performance and validation metrics
Requirements
- ✓Master's or PhD degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- ✓Proficient using data query languages (SQL and/or Spark/Scala) to build complex data queries at scale
- ✓Proficient in Python for building production-quality code
- ✓Basic experience with autonomous driving, safety-critical systems, or computer vision systems
- ✓Proficient in exploratory data analysis (EDA) and data visualization
- ✓Background in statistical modeling and analysis
