After Effects Animator

We are looking for a Freelance After Effects Animator – Arena & Live Event Visuals Katapult Events is seeking a high-performance Freelance After Effects Animator to design and build cinematic, large-format motion graphics for arena-scale live events. This is not a social media animation role. This is stage energy. This is large LED walls. This is walk-in moments that hit with impact. We are looking for someone who understands timing with music, pacing with pyro cues, scale across multi-screen environments, and how motion translates when viewed by thousands in a live setting. This is a freelance position. Work will primarily be remote, with required on-site presence for select show days, rehearsals, or final production runs depending on the event. You should be able to: Build high-impact motion systems from concept to final render Design and animate for ultra-wide and custom LED resolutions Create walk-in visuals, countdowns, speaker intros, transitions, product reveals, and thematic stage environments Work confidently within brand systems while elevating them for live impact Iterate quickly under compressed production timelines Required Software Proficiency: Adobe After Effects (advanced — non-negotiable) Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop Working knowledge of media server environments (Resolume or similar — preferred but not required) What We Expect: Strong typography and composition control at scale Clean, organized project files suitable for production handoff Understanding of render workflows for large-format LED displays Ability to collaborate with creative direction, stage design, lighting, and technical teams Professionalism under pressure Applicants must submit a portfolio or demo reel showcasing relevant large-format or live event work. We are specifically looking for proof that your work performs in a live environment — not just on a laptop screen. Show footage is better if possible.
