New role: Freelance Azure Cloud Engineer (.NET background)
Estimated: 4-months of work, 32-40 hours per week
Clear SOW, occasional visits to Rotterdam
I'm working with a product-led organisation that has just finalised the architecture for a new Azure-native platform, and theyβre now looking for a senior engineer to take ownership of the implementation.
The architecture includes:
- Azure Container Apps (frontend + backend APIs)
- Azure Service Bus (pub/sub with topics & subscriptions)
- Azure Functions (validation, orchestration, event processing)
- Azure SQL (config + reporting layer)
- Azure Blob Storage
- Azure Key Vault
- Optional APIM + Front Door
This is not a greenfield βwhat should we use?β design exercise. The direction is set.
What they need is someone who can:
- Build and wire this cleanly end-to-end
- Implement secure, multi-tenant APIs in .NET
- Design and configure Service Bus topics & subscriptions properly
- Implement event-driven workflows with Functions
- Structure SQL schemas sensibly
- Handle identity, secrets and secure configuration
- Deploy via Azure DevOps / IaC
You should be comfortable owning implementation, but senior enough to challenge details if something isnβt practical.
This is a hands-on role.
Implementation phase is focused on build, with the opportunity to shape the platform longer-term.
If youβve built Azure-native, event-driven platforms using Container Apps + Service Bus + Functions, Iβd be keen to speak.
Drop me a message.
