COBOL: Advanced proficiency in coding, debugging, and performance optimization (8+ years).
Prior experience supporting a State Medicaid/Eligibility project is required.
CICS: Advanced knowledge of online transaction processing and system integration
DB2: Advanced skills in database development, query optimization, and data management
JCL (Job Control Language): Advanced experience developing and maintaining batch jobs
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Strong understanding of full-cycle development processes, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment

Responsibilities:Β
Gather and analyze business requirements to design and implement mainframe-based solutions.
Develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs and CICS transactions to support core application functionality.
Write, modify, and optimize DB2 queries and stored procedures.
Develop and manage JCL scripts for batch processing and automation.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime.
Collaborate closely with business analysts, QA/testers, and development teams to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions.
Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for change management and version control.
Maintain and update technical documentation, process flows, and system design materials.

Experience with GitHub for source control and code versioning
Experience with JIRA for task tracking and collaboration
Familiarity with Eclipse-based development tools
