We’re Hiring: Freelance Cybersecurity Expert – WordPress Incident Response 📍 Location: Remote 💰 Compensation: Contract-based (competitive, based on experience) ⏱ Start Date: Immediate / Urgent ⚠️ Environment: Critical WordPress security breach We are seeking a highly skilled and responsive Cybersecurity Specialist to urgently investigate and resolve a critical security issue affecting our WordPress website, Projectler. This role will also include a full security audit and hardening of the site. 🔎 Key Responsibilities Phase 1: Immediate Incident Response • Identify root cause of the breach (theme, plugin, server, DNS, etc.) • Remove malicious scripts, injections, redirects, or backdoors • Audit WordPress core files, themes, and plugins • Investigate hosting environment and Cloudflare configuration • Secure all admin access points (WordPress, hosting, database, DNS) • Deliver a clear report confirming full remediation Phase 2: Full Security Audit & Hardening • Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessment • Review plugins and dependencies; remove unused or vulnerable components • Audit server configuration (Apache/Nginx, PHP, database) • Harden Cloudflare and authentication settings • Verify for malware and backdoors • Implement WordPress security best practices • Recommend or set up monitoring and protection tools Deliverables: • Written report of findings and remediation steps • List of vulnerabilities identified and resolved • Confirmation that the website is fully secure and hardened • Recommendations for ongoing monitoring ✅ Ideal Candidate • Proven experience cleaning and securing hacked WordPress websites • Strong web application security background • Familiarity with Cloudflare security settings • Experience with Linux hosting environments • Ability to act quickly under urgent conditions • Available to start immediately Application Instructions: Please include: Examples of similar WordPress security incidents you’ve resolved Estimated timeline to fix the immediate breach Availability over the next 48 hours Your approach to full WordPress security audits and hardening We are prioritizing speed, expertise, and clear communication.
