We’re Hiring: Japanese Translator (Remote | Japan-Based) 💰 Compensation: Up to $39/hour 🌍 Location: Fully Remote (Candidates based in Japan only. 🌟 About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled Japanese Translator & Localization Expert to join a dynamic AI-focused team. In this fully remote, hourly contractor role, you will play a critical part in improving next-generation AI systems by evaluating and refining language outputs. Working with SME Careers (a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate), you’ll contribute to cutting-edge AI training projects that power some of the world’s most advanced technologies. 🎯 Key Responsibilities • Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy, clarity, and logic • Provide high-quality translations and localized content in Japanese • Identify and correct linguistic, cultural, and contextual errors • Rank and compare AI outputs based on reasoning quality and correctness • Develop and refine AI training datasets and prompts • Conduct fact-checking to ensure reliability and consistency • Collaborate across global teams to improve AI performance 🎓 Requirements • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, or related field • Native or near-native Japanese proficiency • Minimum C1 level English proficiency • 5+ years of professional translation/localization experience • Strong understanding of MQM/LQA frameworks • Hands-on experience with CAT tools, QA processes, and translation workflows • Exceptional attention to detail, tone, and cultural nuance • Experience in AI training, annotation, or evaluation is a plus 🧠 What You’ll Work On • AI response evaluation & ranking • Search relevance and annotation • Content creation and localization • Domain-specific analysis (e.g., legal, medical, finance) • Dataset building and technical reviews 🌍 Why Join Us?
