Finance Manager

Job Title: Senior Finance Manager Location: Sydney, Australia About the Job: Our client is a well-established property development and construction group with a strong market presence, delivering large-scale projects across residential and commercial sectors. Job Responsibilities: - Lead quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and month-end/year-end financial reporting to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. - Oversee project accounting activities including WIP management, inter-company transactions, progress claims, project recovery, and construction trust reporting. - Strengthen financial systems and internal controls, driving process improvements across ERP platforms (including Cheops and NetSuite). - Ensure compliance with statutory, audit, regulatory, and industry-specific reporting requirements. - Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insights, performance analysis, and decision-making support. - Manage and develop the Senior Accountant while promoting collaboration and accountability within the finance function. Qualifications: - CPA qualification is essential. - Minimum 10+ years of accounting/finance experience, including at least 2+ years within the construction sector. - Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project-based financial management. - Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience with financial systems; NetSuite, Cheops, and PLEXA experience is desirable. - Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of improving systems and processes in a dynamic environment.
