π¨ FREELANCE SUB NEEDED β PLEASE READ BELOW IN FULL FIRST π¨
Sadly one of our lovely freelance subs is leaving us to explore a world outside of journalism, which means I am in need of a new sub from March!
A FEW THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE YOU APPLY:
π‘ You will be subbing hard news, real life features and commercial features β so we're looking for an all-rounder sub who is amazing at pivoting in copy styles.
π‘ We're not after just a fact-spelling-grammar-checker β you'll be a lover of words and flair, able to add a bit of jazz to stories where they need it, punch up a headline if it feels a lil' lacklustre and give constructive feedback to reporters as required.
π‘ We're a small team but we work at high speed. You'll be supported by editors but it's crucial that you are not just comfortable with deadlines, you thrive under them. It sounds very buzz-wordy, I know (!) but I'm nothing if not honest.
π‘ You must be available weekdays (Mon-Thu) for a 7am start time shift. Right now, I have 3-4 shifts free a week. I don't need a weekend or evening sub atm, so if that's your only availability, please do not apply for these shifts.
π‘ You must be based in the UK or similar time zone (+/- two hours max if elsewhere)
π‘ You must be familiar with the type of copy language/headlines/news run by the UK's top national media βΒ Mail Online, The Sun, Mirror, The Times etc.
If you're interested in these shifts, please email me with the following info:
