REMOTE Integrations Engineer
Part time; any hours any days

SUMMARY
Weβre looking for a Contractor, an Integrations Engineer to stabilize and extend integrations between Paylocity and our broader ecosystem of internal tools and platforms.
This role is focused on fixing broken mappings, reducing manual operational work, and building pragmatic automations that directly impact payroll accuracy, onboarding, access, and employee experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Stabilize and correct Paylocity-centered integrations, resolving broken or incomplete mappings related to onboarding, compensation, shifts, commission eligibility, and terminations
Build and refine API- and feed-based integrations between core systems and downstream tools used for workflows, access control, recruiting, documentation, and operational reporting
Support integrations that intersect with procurement or finance workflows where employee, contractor, or vendor data must stay accurate and in sync
SKILLS REQUIRED
5+ years of hands-on experience as an integrations engineer or systems engineer, building and maintaining production integrations
3+ years of direct Paylocity experience, including onboarding, job/comp mappings, terminations, shifts, commission eligibility, and payroll-impacting configurations
Experience working with middleware or integration platforms (such as Aquera or similar), including building, modifying, or debugging live integrations β Aquera experience is strongly preferred, not required
Strong API integration fundamentals, with hands-on experience using REST APIs, webhooks, SFTP/file feeds, and structured data formats (JSON/XML)
Proven ability to integrate HRIS, payroll, benefits, ATS, workflow, identity/access, and adjacent finance or procurement systems without needing deep UI-level expertise in each platform
Comfortable working with incomplete documentation, legacy mappings, and operational edge cases (e.g., agency hires, fulfillment shifts, commission roles)
Experience translating business and operational requirements into technical workflows that reduce manual work and operational risk
Able to work independently and asynchronously, with clear written communication around changes, risks, and dependencies
