IT Support Specialist

IT Support Specialist – Federal Environment (1099, Onsite – Washington, DC) We are seeking a mid-level IT Support Specialist to support a federal Treasury environment in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, onsite role (Monday–Friday) supporting day-to-day IT operations for a regulated government organization. This role is ideal for someone with 5–10 years of hands-on IT support experience who is comfortable working onsite, handling real users, real hardware, and real deadlines. Senior technical and security oversight will be provided by the prime contractor. Key Responsibilities Provide onsite IT support for end users in a federal office environment Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 workstations, laptops, and peripherals Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including: Exchange Online Teams SharePoint OneDrive Intune Entra ID (Azure AD) Perform user account administration, MFA support, and access provisioning Support device provisioning, imaging, patching, and asset tracking Provide remote support when required using standard tools (Teams, RDP, etc.) Escalate complex or security-related issues to senior technical oversight Required Experience 5–10 years of professional IT support experience Strong Windows desktop and endpoint troubleshooting skills Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience Experience supporting users in regulated, enterprise, or government environments Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC, five days per week U.S. Citizen Eligible for a Moderate Risk Public Trust clearance Preferred (Nice to Have) Prior federal agency or contractor experience Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems Basic understanding of security best practices in regulated environments Experience working with distributed or executive-level users Engagement Details Contract Type: 1099 Location: Onsite – Washington, DC Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience This role is part of a prime-led federal engagement with defined escalation paths, clear expectations, and senior technical oversight.
