WorldWide Language Resources is seeking Mandarin Chinese Interpreters for a joint military training project with the US and Taiwanese Militaries. This project will take place at Ft. Lewis, Washington, from April 24 to May 20, providing Mandarin Chinese translation support during the training.
Key details of the project include:
- Combination of classroom instruction and outdoor training sessions.
- A 14β17-day period of austere conditions during the Field Training Exercise, where interpreters will work closely with military personnel.
- Limited access to showers and laundry facilities.
- Sleeping arrangements on military cots with sleeping bags.
- Meals will consist of prepackaged food (MREs) and hot meals provided by the military, with no specific diet accommodations available.
- A project management team will be on-site to address needs and emergencies.
Requirements for the position:
- Must be a US citizen.
- Completion of position processing and interview.
- Willingness to accept austere conditions.
- Pass a medical assessment.
- Validation of Mandarin and English language skills via a third-party assessment.
- Acceptance of a pay range of $31 β $33 per hour, plus overtime for hours exceeding 40 per week.
