Role Description This is a full-time, on-site position located in Abuja for a Chinese Mandarin Translator. The translator will be responsible for accurately translating written and spoken communication between Chinese Mandarin and English. Daily responsibilities include reviewing and editing documents, working with Excel, managing workers, and supervision of work, interpreting conversations, and ensuring cultural and linguistic appropriateness. The role may also require assisting with correspondence, business meetings, or other official communications to ensure accuracy and clarity in translations. Qualifications • Fluent proficiency in Chinese Mandarin and English, with excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills in both languages. • Strong and competent managerial and supervisory skills. • Be comfortable with computer operations, as the job position requires at least basic knowledge of Word and Excel. • Prior experience with translation, document review, and interpretation services is highly desirable. • Strong understanding of cultural nuances and context to ensure accurate and culturally appropriate translations. • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. • Proficiency with translation tools and relevant software is a plus. • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required. • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. • Previous experience in professional settings such as business, legal, or technical industries is advantageous. • Applicants with study experience in China will be given preferential consideration.
