Mixed Reality UX designers:
Weβre working on an innovative medical VR project on Meta Quest 3, and Iβm looking for a freelance UX designer who specializes in Mixed Reality and healthcare-focused experiences.
Youβll help us design intuitive spatial interfaces where clinicians and patients interact with 3D content and data in a safe, focused and emotionally sensitive way. The goal is not just to look impressive in VR, but to genuinely improve medical training, therapy and patient outcomes through clear, low-friction user journeys.
What youβll do
Design endβtoβend user flows and interactions for Quest 3 MR/VR experiences (from onboarding to inβscenario guidance and feedback).
Create wireframes, interaction specs and prototypes that respect headset constraints, hand tracking, and spatial UX best practices.
Balance immersion with safety and comfort for medical users (e.g., reduce cognitive load, avoid visual clutter, support clear decision-making in highβstakes scenarios).
Collaborate closely with our Unity devs, 3D team, and medical experts to iterate quickly on real devices.
Ideal profile
Strong portfolio with at least 2β3 XR/MR/VR case studies (bonus if any are in healthcare, training, or therapy).
Deep understanding of spatial UX on Quest (hand tracking, controllers, passthrough/MR, scene understanding, comfort guidelines).
Solid UX fundamentals: research, information architecture, prototyping, and usability testing in immersive environments.
Nice to have: experience with medical simulations, mental health, or patientβcentered applications (e.g., pain management, anxiety, rehab, cognitive training).
Engagement
Freelance / part-time
Remote, with some overlap in IST for collaboration
Starting as a project engagement with potential to extend
