Freelance Network Engineer (Level 2) | Lisbon, Portugal We are seeking an experienced Freelance Network Engineer (Level 2) for a client engagement in Lisbon, Portugal. This is a project-based, on-site role requiring strong technical expertise and an ability to deliver within enterprise standards. Project Overview: Location: Edifício Heron Castilho, Rua Braamcamp nº 40 - 8º piso, Lisbon, Portugal Engagement: Freelance / B2B Contract Service Window: Local Business Hours (Monday–Friday) Start: Immediate Duration: Project-based with extension potential Scope of Responsibilities: Provide advanced Level 2 operational support for LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and security infrastructure. Perform root-cause analysis, incident resolution, and proactive network health monitoring. Implement approved network changes, configurations, and security policies. Collaborate with L3 engineering and cybersecurity teams on project delivery and compliance. Maintain detailed technical documentation and change management records. Technical & Professional Requirements: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise environments. Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, VPN (IPsec/SSL), and network security principles. Practical experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or equivalent enterprise-grade hardware. Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, etc.). Relevant industry certifications (CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, JNCIA, etc.) are highly regarded. Fluent in Portuguese with strong professional English communication skills. Must be eligible to work under a freelance/B2B contract structure in Portugal. Contract Terms: Freelance/B2B engagement (self-employed). Clearly defined deliverables and reporting structure. Professional, collaborative client environment.
