Network Engineer

We are currently hiring for the following opportunity that may align with your expertise: Position: Network Engineer Location: Springfield, VA-Onsite Pay Range: $54-$58/hr Role summary Hands on implementation, upgrade, and troubleshooting activities for datacenter and campus networks. Execute physical installs, cabling, device configuration, cutovers, validation, and post implementation support for project milestones. Key responsibilities • 8 years of IT/networking experience with proven hands-on work in data center and computer room environments. • Project delivery: execute network device rollouts, migrations, and lifecycle upgrade tasks per project plan. • Hands on implementation: rack & stack, structured cabling, patching, and physical infrastructure work in data centers and computer rooms. • Routing and switching: configure, validate, and troubleshoot OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, inter VLAN routing. • SD WAN: deploy, configure, and troubleshoot SD WAN overlays, policies, and site onboarding. • Manage switching technologies including STP, VTP, VLAN design, trunking, and inter VLAN routing to ensure stable L2/L3 operations. • Deploy and support wireless networks including access point configuration, SSID and security policy enforcement, RF troubleshooting, and controller management. • ACI: implement and troubleshoot Cisco ACI fabric constructs including tenants, VRFs, EPGs, BDs, and contracts. • Load balancers: working knowledge preferred • Diagnostics: perform packet captures, interface diagnostics, route analysis, and root cause investigations. • Onsite presence at customer location at Springfield, Virginia (Monday–Friday) and off hours support as required due to project needs. • Documentation and handover: produce configuration backups, network diagrams, cabling maps, runbooks, and project closeout documentation. • Stakeholder coordination: liaise with project managers, vendors, systems teams, and remote site contacts. • Travel: perform site visits and implementations as required by project schedules.
