Operations Manager

🦸‍♂️ CALLING ALL HVAC HEROES (and operators)… We’re a commercial HVAC service contractor and we’ve reached the point where the owner is still a working tech, and also the “hub” for everything: • answering tech questions • choosing/triaging jobs • estimating • supply ordering + equipment purchasing • recruiting/hiring We need to hire the right operations leader to take day-to-day service execution off his plate and build a scalable service machine. For those who have done this successfully: 1) What title attracts the right candidate here: General Manager, Operations Manager, Director of Service, or Service Manager? 2) Would you run this search yourself or use a specialized HVAC/MEP recruiter? If recruiter, any firms/people you trust? 3) What are the “must-haves” (and red flags) you’d screen for when hiring this role?
