Sr. Project Manager with financial or Banking Domain
Location : Des Peres MO (worker needs to be a local to St Louis, MO as they would need to accommodate a hybrid (3 days onsite) schedule which will eventually move to a 4 day onsite from June onwards. )
Duration; 12 months
Senior Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.
Client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Contractor) to support large and complex initiatives within the Investment Advisory Platform (IAP) portfolio. This role will focus on coordinating project activities, supporting delivery teams, and ensuring milestones are executed according to established plans.This indivicual will work closely with internal stakeholders across the Firm Program Management Office (FPMO), client segment leaders, technology partners, and vendor teams. The individual will contribute project management expertise as a consultant, but will not hold long‑term ownership of enterprise programs.
Core Responsibilities
Project Planning
Support project teams in identifying tasks, timelines, and dependencies.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment to the established project plan.
Apply standard project management methodologies and risk-management concepts.
Project Execution
Manage day‑to‑day project activities, ensuring defined milestones are tracked and delivered.
Facilitate communication between delivery teams, business partners, and
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8–10+ years of hands‑on project management experience in financial services or similar regulated environments.
Proven experience managing complex, cross‑functional projects or large program workstreams.
Proficiency with PM tools (e.g., Clarity, Jira, Aha!, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel).
Strong ability to facilitate discussions, document requirements, and support decisioning processes.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders across business and technology areas.
Preferred Experience
Experience delivering projects within Agile or hybrid delivery frameworks.
Background in investment advisory platforms, wealth management, or fee‑based products.
Role Expectations
This role supports client's internal leaders and does not include supervisory authority or firm‑level decision-making responsibilities.
Contractors may be required to work onsite depending on team schedules and business needs.
The contractor will be expected to follow all client's processes, standards, and documentation practices.
