Job Description – SAP HANA Cloud / BTP Technical Lead
We are seeking an experienced SAP HANA Cloud Technical Lead / Architect to drive the design and development of enterprise-grade data and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SAP HANA Cloud, integration technologies, data modeling, performance optimization, and end-to-end solution architecture.
### Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete SAP HANA development workstream as an independent technical owner and primary resource.
- Design end-to-end integration and replication solutions using SAP technologies such as SLT, SDI, SDA, and other relevant tools.
- Provide architect-level recommendations on overall development approach, target-state architecture, and best practices.
- Define and implement scalable schemas, table relationships, data models, and database structures in SAP HANA Cloud.
- Develop and optimize Calculation Views, SQLScript Procedures, Functions, CDS Views, and reusable database artifacts.
- Design robust data ingestion frameworks for SAP and non-SAP source systems.
- Analyze existing legacy/on-prem HANA models and redesign them into simplified, performant cloud-native solutions.
- Drive database performance tuning, query optimization, partitioning, indexing strategy, and resource utilization improvements.
- Collaborate with business, functional, UI, and integration teams to convert requirements into technical solutions.
- Support environment setup, security authorizations, deployment pipelines, and transport strategy.
- Participate in architecture discussions for future-state BTP, HANA Cloud, and S/4HANA aligned solutions.
### Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP HANA / SAP HANA Cloud
- Expert knowledge of SLT, SDI, SDA and data replication frameworks
- Strong experience in data modeling, schema design, joins, star schemas, and enterprise reporting structures
- Advanced SQL / SQLScript expertise
- Deep expertise in Calculation Views, Procedures, Functions, CDS Views
- Proven experience in performance tuning and optimization
- Ability to independently lead development as a single point of ownership
- Strong problem-solving and solution architecture skills
### Nice to Have
- SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 knowledge
- SAP BTP CAP services knowledge
- Experience with Cloud Connector, Destinations, Security Roles
- Exposure to analytics/reporting modernization programs
### Preferred Profile
A highly proactive technical leader who can operate with minimal supervision, own the HANA landscape end-to-end, and guide the team on best-fit architecture, performance, and delivery execution.
