🖥️ Now Hiring: System Administrator 📍 Champaign, IL - Onsite 📅 3-Month Assignment (Potential to Extend) We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to ensure our technology infrastructure operates efficiently, securely, and with minimal downtime. This role plays a critical part in maintaining and optimizing servers, virtualization environments, Active Directory, and backup systems across the organization. 🎯 Core Areas of Responsibility Server Management (Windows & Linux) Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V) Active Directory Administration Backup & Disaster Recovery Systems 💼 Key Responsibilities Maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of servers, systems, and virtualization platforms Manage IT operations including OS, security tools, applications, email systems, desktops, and peripherals Administer Active Directory (user accounts, permissions, access management) Monitor performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues Oversee virtualization environments, VLAN configurations, and Enterprise features Conduct routine audits of backup systems and disaster recovery processes Monitor data center health and respond to hardware alerts Implement security best practices and mitigation strategies Support endpoint protection systems (TRAPS preferred) Manage firewall and filtering solutions (Palo Alto, Securly, email filtering appliances preferred) Maintain detailed system documentation and IT policies Provide technical guidance to IT staff and support infrastructure planning Train Computer Technicians and provide second-tier support as needed ✅ Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Network Administration, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred) 3+ years of experience in system, database, or network administration Experience managing distributed systems across multiple platforms Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, Android Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and UNIX administration Hands-on experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V Experience with endpoint protection (TRAPS), Palo Alto firewalls, and filtering solutions preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to travel between work locations as needed If you're a proactive infrastructure professional looking for a contract opportunity with potential to extend, let me know.
