This is a key role for a professional who understands Medicaid, healthcare systems, and contract management, with a focus on analyzing, documenting, and improving business processes across multiple vendors and modules. As AMA transitions toward a modular, service-oriented architecture (SOA), this position offers the opportunity to contribute to modernizing healthcare technology for the state of Alabama. Responsibilities Review and analyze system documentation, change requests, test results, and contracts. Provide oversight to ensure contract requirements and federal standards are met. Support agency business areas in understanding contractor responsibilities. Monitor system changes, project deliverables, and operational performance. Facilitate design and testing reviews, and oversee release validation. Lead meetings, document decisions, and communicate updates across teams. Support compliance with CMS, MITA, OBC, HITECH, and other federal regulations. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and tracking documentation. Required Skills 7+ years as a Senior Business Analyst, including 3+ years in requirements development and management. 5+ years’ experience in MMIS, Medicaid, Medicare, or major healthcare payer systems. 2+ years in contract monitoring or RFP development. Strong background in project management, stakeholder engagement, and change management. Proficiency with SharePoint, Office 365, Webex/Teams, and collaboration tools. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Skills 10+ years as a Senior Business Analyst. Experience in state or federal agencies. Advanced expertise in MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical, research, and critical-thinking skills. Proven ability to work independently under deadlines.
