Japanese Translator Job

🚀 We’re hiring again: Part-Time Translation Team Member (Manga Translation & Design)!!

📍 Iidabashi, Tokyo (On-site) 🗓 Mon/Wed/Fri | 10am–6pm

At Mantra, we work directly with major Japanese publishers to bring manga to readers across the world (sometimes even for simultaneous multi-language release). This role is your chance to be hands-on with the localization process for titles you know and love.

What you’ll do:

- Review Japanese-to-English translations - Typeset/letter manga pages (in Mantra Engine + Photoshop/Clip Studio) - Assist with image tweaks and other production tasks

What we’re looking for:

- Strong command of both Japanese (N2 or equivalent) and English - Recent experience with Photoshop or Clip Studio - Eye for layout, design, and natural-sounding dialogue - Must live in/near Tokyo & hold a valid Japan work visa - Comfortable working with occasional R18 content

Nice-to-have skills:

- Manga/webtoon translation or typesetting experience - Attention to detail, even with repetitive tasks
