About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to serve as a technical pillar across our engineering teams at 6sense. This role is ideal for a highly experienced backend engineer who thrives on solving hard problems, mentoring others, and guiding architecture across multiple domains.
Key Responsibilities
- βOwn and lead design for major backend systems across CE, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability
- βCollaborate with multiple teams to address cross-cutting concerns (e.g., shared libraries, infra patterns, tech debt, security)
- βTackle escalated production issues, security vulnerabilities, and architectural decisions
- βContribute to and guide implementation of large features (e.g., platform-wide improvements, big bets within CE)
- βProvide technical mentorship to engineers across levels and help raise the engineering bar
- βDrive documentation, performance profiling, and system-level debugging practices
- βWork with EM's and PM's to shape technical roadmap and support long-term platform health
Requirements
- β8+ years of experience in backend engineering with deep expertise in designing complex distributed systems
- βStrong hands-on experience with Python, Ruby, and cloud platforms like AWS
- βExcellent system design and architecture skills
- βComfortable debugging performance issues, tackling infra and security problems, and driving org-wide improvements
- βStrong mentorship and communication skills, with a track record of influencing across teams
- βBonus: experience with SingleStore, email deliverability systems (e.g., SMTP), or platform architecture at scale
