About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Director to join AbbVie in Westport, Co. Mayo. This key leadership position will oversee the site engineering function at our aseptic fill-finish production facility, ensuring high performance and compliance with stringent industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

→Deliver the required Safety, Environmental, Quality and Financial performance of the Engineering Department
→Partner with the Site Leadership Team to meet site goals through effective management of plant resources
→Lead high-performing cross-functional teams and accelerate key talent development
→Contribute to employee safety through workplace safety initiatives
→Ensure qualification status of all equipment and optimize equipment design
→Drive equipment reliability through the AbbVie Maintenance Excellence Program
→Deliver the approved Capital Investment plan and ensure engineering projects are completed on time and within budget
→Develop and implement projects to support the introduction of new products
→Develop annual capital Long Range Plan to support investments
→Lead the Business Continuity Plan for the site
→Lead the Site Automation team and Business Technology Systems partnership
→Lead Environmental Sustainability initiatives and maintain ISO 50001 Registration
→Lead the provision of Site Security services
→Ensure maintenance and upkeep of site buildings
→Ensure contractor compliance with legislative and company requirements

Requirements

✓Proven leadership experience in engineering functions within a manufacturing environment
✓Strong understanding of aseptic fill-finish processing and biologic drug product manufacturing
✓Expertise in process engineering, maintenance, and capital project engineering
✓Experience with environmental sustainability initiatives and ISO certifications
✓Knowledge of business continuity planning and automation technologies
✓Ability to lead cross-functional teams and develop key talent
✓Strategic thinking and financial management capabilities
✓Strong safety leadership and compliance management skills
