The SAP Acquire to Retire Consultant leads the analysis, design, and implementation of S/4HANA Acquire to Retire (A2R) business processes. This resource acts as the functional expert for the end-to-end asset lifecycle, from initial capital budgeting and project construction (AUC) to asset capitalization, depreciation, and final retirement. This role ensures that all property, plant, and equipment (PP&E) data is accurately captured and remains compliant with federal financial reporting standards and audit requirements. The A2R Functional Consultant is responsible for leading system analysis, end-to-end configuration, and cross-functional integration.
Key responsibilities:
• Analyze and design S/4HANA A2R business processes, facilitating workshops to define requirements for capital investment, asset tracking, and valuation
• Perform hands-on configuration of New Asset Accounting (FI-AA), including Asset Classes, Depreciation Areas, and Valuation Groups, ensuring alignment with the Universal Journal (ACDOCA)
• Configure and maintain Project Systems structures (WBS Elements, Networks) to track Capital Projects and automate the settlement process to Assets under Construction (AuC)
• Ensure asset transactions correctly interface with Funds Management (FM) to track the use of appropriated funds for capital expenditures across the 3-dimensional budget structure
• Partner with developers to create custom asset forms, automated labeling interfaces, or enhancements to the asset master data to support federal reporting mandates (e.g., GSA reporting)
• Lead the migration of complex legacy asset data, ensuring historical depreciation, accumulated costs, and mid-year transfer values are reconciled with the General Ledger
• Write and execute comprehensive test plans for asset acquisitions, transfers, impairments, and depreciation runs, ensuring accuracy in multi-ledger environments
• Deploy SAP Fiori apps for asset inventory, project monitoring, and real-time capital spend analytics to improve operational visibility
Here’s what you need:
• 4+ years of experience in SAP FI-AA and PS, with a deep understanding of S/4HANA’s simplified asset architecture and the depreciation engine
• Experience with Capital Investment Management, including the settlement logic from projects to fixed assets
• Integration knowledge, specifically between A2R and Procure to Pay (P2P) for asset procurement and Budget to Report (B2R) for financial statement reporting
Nice to have:
• Proficiency in Business Process Analysis, with the ability to lead "Fit-to-Standard" sessions and minimize customizations through standard SAP Asset Management features
• Ability to troubleshoot settlement errors, analyze asset journals, and configure Flexible Workflow for asset disposals or transfers
• Understanding of Federal Accounting Standards (SFFAS) related to Property, Plant, and Equipment and Audit Readiness (FIAR)
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
Eligibility requirements:
• US Citizen (no dual citizenship)
• Must be eligible to obtain a government Secret Clearance
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
