β THE ALAN PRECISION CREW
The crew was launched by the founding team of ARO, acquired by Alan in 2026, to move fast and apply their learnings from building a preventive health company.
It is a lean 0-to-1 crew with the energy, autonomy, and pace of a startup, inside one of Europeβs fastest-growing unicorns, with access to Alanβs 1M+ members, its ecosystem (Mo, Play, Clinic), and its stack.
π SCOPE
You'll work across the entire product surface as a full-stack generalist. The big areas:
1. AI as the strategist of your health. Members come to Precision with messy, multi-source data and one real question: "what should I actually do?". AI is how we answer it. It reads the member's biology, wearables, medical history, and lifestyle context together, surfaces what matters, generates personalised insights and action plans, and helps the member navigate their own health day after day. You'll build the AI layer that does this, and the loops that make it sharper over time.
2. The full health picture. Before AI can help, the data has to be there: lab results, wearable streams, medical history, lifestyle inputs, all ingested cleanly and modelled as a coherent picture of one person. You'll build the pipelines, the integrations with lab partners and wearable APIs, the document understanding, and the data model that everything else relies on.
3. A product members want to open every day. Most health products lose people after a week. We can't. A mobile-first experience that turns a long-term health protocol into something members actually want to interact with: onboarding, the daily plan, retests, progress, the moments of insight that pull them back in. You'll ship the React Native app and shape what advanced prevention feels like in someone's pocket.
4. Plugged into the Alan ecosystem. Precision is uniquely powerful inside Alan. Connected to Mo (AI health companion), Play (engagement), Clinic (teleconsultation), and Shop, the experience compounds in ways no standalone competitor can match. You'll build the connective tissue: handoffs to teleconsultation, specialist referrals, shared member context across products etc.
5. International expansion. Being the European reference for advanced prevention by 2030 means shipping across France, Spain, Belgium, Canada, and beyond. You'll build the systems that let us launch in a new market quickly, from lab partner integrations to languages and localized pricing.

- Millions of healthier people. You start with Alan's 1M+ members from day one, with a clear path to many millions more across Europe. What you ship will measurably change how they read their bodies, how they sleep, how they eat, and how many healthy years they have ahead of them.
- You sit at the frontier of preventive health in Europe. Most healthcare reacts to symptoms. Alan Precision is the bet that could shift that, at scale. Your code is what determines whether someone catches a problem ten years early or ten years too late.
- Outcomes you can actually feel. You'll see real lives change with what you ship: members with more energy, sleeping better, eating differently, getting more healthy years. Few products give you that kind of feedback loop. We experienced it first hand when building ARO.
β‘ WHY THIS ROLE IS SPECIAL
- True 0-to-1, in a position no one else holds. All the autonomy and pace of a startup, none of the cold-start. Alan is one of the very few players in Europe combining insurance, healthcare delivery, and a 1M+ member base in a single product, and that's the lever Alan Precision uses to go after a real shot at being the European reference for advanced prevention by 2030. You'll be on that bet from the ground floor, alongside the team that founded ARO before the acquisition.
- Extreme ownership. Small crew, broad surface, fast feedback loops. The features you ship on Monday are in members' hands by the end of the week, and you own them end-to-end: design, code, rollout, iteration.
- A team you'll actually learn from. You'll work daily with Gaspard (Product), Charles (Tech), Maxime (Medical Lead, ex-Stanford prevention research), and the broader Alan engineering org when you need it.
- Healthcare that meets the bar. Real biology, validated by physicians, with the rigor of clinical research, not consumer biohacking. The work matters, and the standard is correspondingly high.
π οΈ THE STACK
Python/Flask, Typescript, React, React Native on the coding side. AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, Terraform/Terramate, Datadog, Cloudflare, GitHub Actions on the platform side, all in a monorepo. We deploy daily and believe in distributed ownership: you build it, you own it.
β IS IT YOU WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
We're a small crew with a very high bar. We need a few exceptional engineers who can carry significant scope from day one. Onboarding bandwidth will be limited, and the people we hire will set the standard for everyone who comes after.
EXPERIENCE WE VALUE
- 3+ years of engineering experience, with strong product-eng instincts.
- You're a generalist, comfortable jumping across mobile (React Native), web, backend (Python/Flask), and willing to learn whatever the product needs next.
- You've shipped AI-powered features in production. LLMs, agents, retrieval-augmented systems, evals, whatever the right tool was. You know what works once it hits real users, not just what looks impressive in a demo.
- You've shipped real products end-to-end, from idea, to code, to production, to iterating on what you learned from real users.
- You're fluent in English (French is not required).
MINDSET WE VALUE
- Grit and bias for action. You make decisions with incomplete information, ship, learn, and iterate. You'd rather fix a bad call than avoid making one.
- You love 0-to-1. Ambiguity energises you. You're comfortable in a phase where the product, the codebase, and the playbook are all being written at the same time.
- You're product-minded. You think about the member as much as you think about the code. You can read a metric, talk to a user, sketch a flow, and translate all of that into the right thing to build.
- You're high-ownership. You don't wait for a ticket. You spot the gap, propose, ship, and follow through.
- The mission matters to you. Bonus points if you already care about longevity, prevention, or healthspan. Even more bonus points if you've been tracking your own biomarkers, or tinkering with your own protocol long before this job posting.
- You build with AI, with judgment. AI is part of how you ship: you use it across the dev cycle (designing, coding, reviewing, debugging) to compound your output. But you're not a vibe coder. You read what the model produces, push back when it's wrong, and own everything that ends up in production. The bar for the code stays the same whether you typed it or generated it.
