About the Role

We are seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor - Supervising to join our in-prison facilities and support the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP). This role involves delivering rehabilitative programming services while supervising counseling staff and ensuring compliance with clinical and administrative standards.

Key Responsibilities

→Deliver treatment programming services to participants through group and individual sessions
→Supervise approximately eight AOD Counseling staff and evaluate their performance
→Maintain knowledge of AOD certification process and monitor staff progress
→Supervise orientation and intake processes for newly assigned participants
→Track all participants including names, assigned counselors, and stage of participation
→Complete all delivery documentation requirements per contractual obligations in ARMS
→Prepare accurate reports, records, and plans consistent with Amity standards
→Provide training, oversight, and monitoring of ARMS documentation for compliance
→Provide training to AOD Counseling staff including OMCP Mentors
→Coordinate and supervise OMCP Mentors assigned to the program
→Support OMCP Mentors in completing work experience for certification process
→Provide clinical verification of internship hours for counseling staff and mentors
→Collaborate with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS, institution staff, and co-faculty

Requirements

✓Bachelor's Degree in social service field with 1+ year SUDT experience as certified AOD Counselor at Counselor III level or higher
✓Associate's Degree in social service field with 2+ years SUDT experience as certified AOD Counselor at Counselor III level or higher
✓3+ years SUDT experience as certified AOD Counselor at Counselor III level or higher
✓Current AOD Certification with DHCS-recognized organization or professional license
✓Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse
✓Excellent organization, leadership, and time management skills
✓Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
✓Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills
✓Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS (preferred)
✓Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressure
✓Ability to protect participant health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality
