Position Overview
ANSER is seeking a National Security & Intelligence Research Analyst to support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (IBP), Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate (GIES). In this role, you will support research and analysis related to foreign investment, supply chain risk, and defense industrial base (DIB) security. You will assist with due diligence, data analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making for DoD leadership and interagency partners.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
β’ Conduct classified and open-source research to support GIES missions, including Defense Production Act initiatives, IBAS programs, and Office of Strategic Capital projects.
β’ Assist with due diligence and fact-finding on foreign investment transactions, supply chain risks, dual-use technology transfer, and other industrial base concerns.
β’ Collect and analyze data to identify potential impacts to DoD security interests and investment strategies.
β’ Support the preparation of reports, briefings, and analytic products for senior leadership and interagency stakeholders.
β’ Assist with liaison activities with the Intelligence Community and other DoD offices.
β’ Support the development of analytic frameworks, methodologies, and performance metrics for ongoing projects.
β’ Conduct initial assessments to identify risks, trends, and potential mitigation approaches.
β’ Track and consolidate project data to inform team recommendations and reporting requirements.
β’ Support project teams with data modeling, research coordination, and other analytic tasks.
Required Qualifications
β’ Active Top Secret/SCI eligible clearance
β’ Bachelorβs degree
β’ 3 or more yearsβ relevant experience, including research and analysis in one or more of the following areas: national security, intelligence, industrial base policy, supply chain risk, foreign investment, or dual-use technology assessment. Relevant experience includes:
β’ Conducting data collection, interviews, and analysis to support project objectives.
β’ Applying analytic methodologies to evaluate options, identify risks, and support decision-making.
β’ Contributing to the creation of reports, briefings, or performance measurements for projects or leadership.
β’ Demonstrated ability to work effectively on project teams to support strategic objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
β’ Experience operating within the Department of Defense (DoD), Industrial Base Policy, or similar strategic-level staff environments.
β’ Experience supporting project implementation, process improvement, or organizational transformation initiatives.
β’ Experience preparing briefings, presentations, or reports for senior leadership.
β’ Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), or equivalent is a plus
