About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Banking team at AngelList. This role focuses on building foundational components and services that other engineering teams across AngelList depend on, including account primitives, transaction pipelines, ledger systems, and banking integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain foundational banking services and APIs consumed by multiple product teams
- →Own core platform primitives including accounts, transactions, ledger entries, and money movement workflows
- →Build reliable integrations with banking partners and payment networks
- →Define and enforce service contracts, data models, and interface boundaries
- →Improve the reliability, observability, and performance of banking infrastructure at scale
- →Partner with compliance and risk teams to ensure systems meet regulatory requirements
- →Contribute to technical direction and architectural decisions
- →Mentor engineers across the organization
Requirements
- ✓6+ years building backend or full-stack web applications
- ✓Deep experience designing APIs, services, and abstractions for other engineering teams
- ✓Strong background in financial systems, payments, ledgers, or banking integrations
- ✓Track record of building systems where correctness and auditability are non-negotiable
- ✓Ability to model complex business domains in relational databases
- ✓Experience owning foundational components that other teams depend on
- ✓Startup experience or founder mindset
