About the Role
We are looking for a Lead CAD Designer to join our civil engineering team at ANS, a consulting engineering firm recognized as one of the Best Places to Work and a Top 10 Hottest Engineering Firm in the US. This role involves leading civil engineering design efforts, mentoring junior designers, and providing technical solutions using advanced 2D and 3D CAD knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the development of civil engineering designs and construction plans, including grading, drainage, and site layout.
- →Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D for alignments, profiles, and grading features to produce engineered plans and sheet setups.
- →Apply advanced concepts for site grading, storm drainage, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater best management practices.
- →Collaborate with civil engineers to interpret design intent and translate it into accurate CAD drawings.
- →Coordinate with other disciplines such as survey, electrical, geotechnical, and structural engineering to ensure seamless design integration.
- →Troubleshoot and solve design challenges with practical, client-focused solutions while applying creativity and independent thought.
Requirements
- ✓An associate or technical degree in CAD, civil engineering technology, or a related field is required.
- ✓Eight or more years of experience in civil design, with strong proficiency in Civil 3D.
- ✓Advanced understanding of civil design principles, including grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
- ✓Ability to lead projects, mentor junior staff, and maintain design standards.
- ✓Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
