About the Role

We are looking for a Security Engineer to join Anthropic's Security Engineering team. This role involves protecting AI systems and maintaining user trust through various security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

→Scope, design, and build complex security systems end to end
→Identify systematic risks through threat modeling and risk assessment
→Mentor engineers across the security team and broader engineering organization
→Enable other teams to build their own security solutions
→Build and advance our developer security program
→Harden CI/CD pipelines against supply chain attacks
→Architect systems that protect sensitive assets
→Build and operate credential issuance, rotation, and workload authentication
→Implement and maintain cloud security controls
→Contribute to cluster security controls
→Build critical security foundations including cryptographic frameworks

Requirements

✓At least 8 years of software engineering experience with deep security expertise
✓Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
✓Strong programming skills in Python or at least one systems language
✓Deep understanding of identity systems, cryptographic primitives, and secrets management
✓Working knowledge of Kubernetes security primitives
✓Experience leading cross-functional security initiatives
✓Outstanding communication skills
✓A track record of bringing clarity to ambiguous technical problems
✓Low ego and high empathy
✓Passion for AI safety
