About the Role
We are looking for a highly talented Senior Software Engineer in Test specializing in frontend technologies to join Kong. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing test suites for our Konnect and Developer Portal applications, focusing on performance, reliability, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- โDevelop and maintain end-to-end tests for UI components using Cypress, Playwright, and Vitest
- โCollaborate with frontend engineers to ensure high-quality and performant code
- โBuild and maintain a testing framework for regression, smoke, and component-level tests
- โEnhance automation coverage and ensure efficient test execution
- โDebug and resolve issues within the UI and provide support for performance and load testing
- โWork closely with product and design teams to ensure pixel-perfect, responsive designs are well-tested
- โIntegrate tests within CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions
- โImprove test documentation and actively contribute to test planning and strategy
Requirements
- โ5+ years of experience in frontend testing with a focus on JavaScript, TypeScript, and frontend frameworks like Vue.js, React.js
- โExtensive hands-on experience with testing frameworks and tools like Vitest, Cypress, Playwright, and Jest
- โStrong understanding of UI/UX principles and the ability to test for both functional and visual fidelity
- โExperience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration
- โFamiliarity with component-driven development and testing in mono repos or micro-frontends architecture
- โAbility to collaborate effectively with engineers and product teams
- โStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, particularly with pixel perfection and cross-browser/device testing
