About the Role
Applaudo is seeking a hands-on senior engineer to build scalable, production-grade applications in the cloud. This role involves end-to-end ownership of complex systems, contributing to architectural decisions, and mentoring others in a remote-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
- →Develop and operate high-performance REST and GraphQL APIs
- →Implement and evolve event-driven architectures using AWS services
- →Model and optimize data access patterns in DynamoDB
- →Support system evolution by enabling hybrid architectures
- →Provision and manage infrastructure using AWS CDK
- →Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines
- →Ensure production readiness through proper logging, monitoring, and observability
- →Build and maintain frontend applications using React and TypeScript
- →Collaborate with product, backend, and frontend teams to deliver cohesive solutions
- →Participate in architectural discussions and code reviews
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- ✓7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Node.js and TypeScript
- ✓Proven experience building full-stack applications using React and TypeScript
- ✓Solid experience designing and operating REST and/or GraphQL APIs
- ✓Hands-on experience with AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3)
- ✓Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures in production environments
- ✓Experience with DynamoDB in production, including single-table design and scaling
- ✓Experience supporting hybrid architectures with legacy systems
- ✓Hands-on experience with AWS CDK or other IaC tools
- ✓Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- ✓Solid understanding of logging, monitoring, and observability tools
- ✓Strong frontend skills with state management patterns
- ✓Advanced English proficiency for distributed team collaboration
