About the Role
Applaudo is seeking a Network Engineer to ensure network stability, security, and availability across hybrid environments. This part-time role involves day-to-day operations, incident response, and infrastructure reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- →Own and manage day-to-day network operations across corporate offices, data center, and AWS environments
- →Ensure the availability, stability, and security of VPN and firewall infrastructures supporting on-prem and cloud systems
- →Execute, validate, and document Cisco firmware upgrades, security patches, and firewall maintenance activities
- →Support and operate AWS network components within a hybrid infrastructure model
- →Monitor network performance and lead incident response, troubleshooting, and remediation efforts
- →Enforce operational, security, and compliance standards during network changes and maintenance activities
- →Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, configurations, and operational runbooks
- →Act as a senior escalation point for complex network and connectivity issues
- →Collaborate closely with internal IT teams and external vendors to support operational needs
- →Support and contribute to the migration from legacy on-prem VPN infrastructure to AWS
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- ✓5+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Administration, or IT Operations roles
- ✓Strong hands-on experience operating and supporting Cisco networking and security environments
- ✓Extensive experience managing VPN infrastructures, including Cisco AnyConnect and legacy VPN solutions
- ✓Solid experience with Cisco Firepower appliances (ASA and FTD code bases)
- ✓Strong operational knowledge of firewall configuration, maintenance, patching, and security updates
- ✓Experience supporting enterprise switching environments, such as Cisco Catalyst series
- ✓Hands-on experience with AWS networking components, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, and VPN connectivity
- ✓Proven experience monitoring network performance, availability, and health across hybrid environments
- ✓Experience handling incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive remediation actions
- ✓Strong documentation skills for operational procedures, network diagrams, and configurations
- ✓Familiarity with security, compliance, and change management best practices
- ✓Excellent English communication skills, as you will collaborate with US-based stakeholders
