Key Responsibilities
- →Creating tech packs to communicate specifications for aesthetic, construction, fit and cost
- →Communicating fit, design and construction comments and corrections clearly to factories
- →Executing the development of product from concept through commercialization
- →Providing thorough product information and construction information to enable efficient sourcing and purchase of raw materials
- →Compiling all product materials, construction, and bill of materials (BOM) information
- →Ensuring calendar deliverables are met
- →Supporting the business in meeting FOB targets in partnership with cross-functional teams
- →Supporting and influencing the development process to achieve commercial viability of designs
- →Developing and maintaining accurate sample garment measurement specifications
- →Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing
Requirements
- ✓5+ years’ experience in product development, technical design or pattern making
- ✓Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
- ✓Strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing
- ✓Proficient in PLM, Adobe creative suite and Microsoft Office
- ✓Knowledge of and previous experience in product costing
- ✓Comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction and fit
- ✓Complete understanding of the product lifecycle process
- ✓Experience effectively communicating with and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
- ✓Comfortable communicating with factories via technical drawings and fit photos
- ✓Detailed and accuracy oriented, with strong organizational skills
- ✓Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- ✓Fluent in English, with an understanding of Japanese, or open to learning Japanese
- ✓Able to work flexible hours to connect with global teams
- ✓Demonstrates initiative, agility, and commitment
- ✓Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- ✓Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- ✓Inspires breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
- ✓Passion for work and getting outside and living it
