About the Role
We are looking for an Area Project Manager to support a major nuclear construction programme in Bridgwater. This role requires strong mechanical engineering expertise to lead delivery teams and contractors across construction and installation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead mechanical-led delivery activities within a defined construction area
- →Coordinate mechanical engineering, construction and installation sequencing
- →Develop and maintain integrated Level 4 construction schedules
- →Identify mechanical and construction risks and drive mitigation actions
- →Manage interfaces between mechanical packages and adjacent areas
- →Lead engagement with Tier 1 contractors and supply chain partners
- →Support resolution of construction and installation hotspots
- →Ensure safe systems of work and quality standards are maintained
- →Control cost, change and schedule impacts within the area
- →Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement practices
Requirements
- ✓Strong mechanical engineering background
- ✓Experience in project management within construction environments
- ✓Ability to integrate mechanical scope, schedule, safety and cost
- ✓Experience working with contractors and supply chain partners
- ✓Knowledge of risk management and mitigation strategies
- ✓Understanding of quality standards and safety protocols
- ✓Experience with schedule management and cost control
