About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Search & Recommendations squad at Back Market, a global marketplace for refurbished devices. This role involves mentoring and coaching team members, leading software delivery, and fostering continuous improvement within an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead a collaborative team in delivering great software for customers and sellers
- →Collaborate with product groups and other tribes to align team objectives with company initiatives
- →Ensure development of people and teams through ongoing coaching and mentoring
- →Create a supportive team environment where members feel valued and motivated
- →Establish open communication and a culture of feedback between team members
- →Work in an agile 'build it and run it' environment, building, launching, monitoring, and supporting owned sections
- →Identify and implement improvements in processes, practices, and products
- →Support teams in increasing delivery proficiency by creating a learning environment
Requirements
- ✓Experience and passion for growing, developing, and guiding people
- ✓Openness to receiving and giving feedback in a safe workplace
- ✓Interest in supporting teams to do great work by removing impediments and facilitating decision-making
- ✓Enthusiasm about reaching new levels of effectiveness and quality
- ✓Background as an individual contributor with willingness to help when needed
- ✓Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- ✓Experience working in agile development teams with knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, RestFul API, Python, Django, VueJs, Nuxt, Datadog, Spinnaker, Nginx, UWSGI
- ✓Past experience in finance or payment is a strong asset
- ✓Proven experience in search & recommendation topics
