About the Role
We are looking for a Platform Software Engineer to join our team at Braze. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and evolving our internal infrastructure as a service platform. You will collaborate with engineering teams to create and improve the infrastructure that every other team at Braze depends on.
Key Responsibilities
- →Partner with Braze’s engineering teams on defining and implementing IaaS productions
- →Make monitoring and alerting alerts on symptoms and not on outages
- →Ensure Braze meets strict enterprise-grade SLAs with customers
- →Develop Braze’s embedded frameworks for large-scale distributed processing
- →Design, build, and operate internal software frameworks for asynchronous and background processing systems
- →Evolve and extend frameworks built on technologies like Sidekiq
- →Own scaling behavior, reliability guarantees, and operational safety of systems
- →Provide abstractions, tooling, and guardrails for application teams
- →Improve observability and debuggability for large-scale job-processing systems
- →Develop Braze’s internal Infrastructure as a Service platform
- →Manage incidents and be on a PagerDuty rotation
- →Use on-call shifts to prevent incidents
- →Retrospect everything that happens to turn lessons into improvements
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of full-stack development experience
- ✓Experience with systems design, interfaces, boundaries, and edge cases
- ✓Ability to collaborate, document, and deliver quickly
- ✓Experience working with global remote teams asynchronously
- ✓Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and expectations
- ✓Experience with large-scale API-driven systems
- ✓Experience in application and systems observability
- ✓Experience in building/automating Kubernetes-based operators
