About the Role

We are seeking a Footwear Product Development Manager for Advanced Development in Asia to lead the footwear development process from concept to commercialization. This role involves managing complex projects and new product introductions while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the US and Asia to meet development timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

→Lead multiple projects from Brief stage through Design, Development, Costing, and Commercialization
→Plan and execute project development according to seasonal calendars to ensure on-time delivery
→Critique and evaluate technical blueprints, patterns, and materials to optimize performance and manufacturability
→Coach and manage junior development team members to enhance their skills and career growth
→Recommend component and construction options to meet costing, functional, aesthetic, and quality goals
→Initiate and lead meetings with Asia cross-functional teams to review and update products for production confirmation
→Develop strong relationships with engineers, factory developers, and suppliers for joint problem-solving
→Lead key seasonal meetings, document issues, and drive action plans to resolve outstanding problems
→Organize development trips by setting agendas and achievement targets
→Update and maintain technical packages including upper pattern packages, color maps, and project specifications
→Communicate effectively with US Product teams to execute product performance, aesthetics, and costing vision
→Collaborate with Materials team and vendors to improve materials meeting mechanical standards
→Work with R&D engineering team and factories to implement pattern/tooling guidelines consistently
→Ensure seasonal assets transfer is completed cleanly and on time with inline creation teams and factories
→Stay updated on market trends, technology, and consumer needs to align projects with corporate goals

Requirements

✓Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, Biomechanics, or related technical field
✓7+ years of experience in Athletic Footwear product development
✓2+ years of people management experience is a plus
✓Technical expertise in footwear development, process, project management, costing, and manufacturing
✓Advanced footwear development skills and proven cross-functional project management success
✓Working knowledge of cost engineering and ability to recommend construction/costing solutions
✓Fluent English communication skills for effective presentation and collaboration
✓Proven track record of successful collaboration in global product teams
✓Ability to lead and influence in collaborative, cross-functional groups without command/control
✓Confidence in managing projects through ambiguity and creating solutions to move forward
✓Ability to develop positive relationships with diverse teams and cultural backgrounds
✓Advanced communication skills for conveying new ideas and concepts within project teams
✓Keen attention to detail in planning, organization, and execution while understanding the big picture
✓Ability to anticipate decision impacts on customers, partners, products, and departments
✓Curious, open-minded, and willing to challenge the status quo for product and process improvement
✓Strong computer skills including Illustrator and MS Office applications
✓Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
✓Experience with FlexPLM, MS Project, or Illustrator is a plus
✓Passion for Brooks activities and understanding of runner needs to develop customer relationships
