They’ve built the products we admire most and now they’re helping us build ours. ABOUT THE ROLE   As a Full Stack Software Engineer you’ll be one of the first members of our core engineering team. You’ll help build the next generation of creative software at the frontier of graphics, real-time rendering, and AI. You will also help build the systems and tools that power Butter’s core creative experience, including our real-time editor and motion engine, as well as AI-assisted design workflows that help users create faster without losing control or taste. As part of our founding team, you’ll explore new ways of creating that combine precision and play, structure and freedom. You’ll ship quickly and see your work used by thousands of creators around the world. OVERALL, YOU'LL:   • Shape the Product: As an early team member, help define our architecture, user experience, and technical trade-offs. Your input directly shapes how Butter feels and performs. • Build What Matters: Ship core features that make Butter feel magical — from powerful video editing tools to collaboration features that drive growth and make creating faster and more accessible. • Work as One Team: Collaborate closely with Design, Product, and Growth Teams to create an experience that feels polished and magical for our users. • Solve Complex Problem: Take concepts from idea to launch to iteration — and see your work used by thousands of creators. YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF...   - You have 3+ years of experience building modern web applications - You are proficient in Typescript, React, Apollo, GraphQL, Postgres, NextJs or equivalent full stack framework - You have excellent web debugging and optimization skills - You have experience in writing unit and integration test NICE TO HAVES   - Comfort working with creative technologies like WebGL, Canvas, or motion libraries. - Built or contributed to open-source projects, or creative tools - Familiarity with video, animation, or generative design systems WANT TO APPLY?   Butter is a well-funded, ambitious team rethinking what creative tools can be.
