About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Copywriter to join Canva's Brand in Product squad. This role focuses on defining and delivering Canva's brand voice within our product experience.
Key Responsibilities
- βWrite and refine in-product copy across various surfaces, balancing clarity with personality
- βTranslate complex product functionality into simple, empowering language
- βCreate messaging frameworks for key launches like Canva Create, Canva World Tour, and Droptober
- βDevelop scalable product toolkits that align Product, Marketing, and Brand
- βEnsure consistency of tone, terminology, and positioning across all in-product surfaces
- βCollaborate with designers and creative leads from early ideation through to final execution
- βContribute to early-stage conceptual thinking and creative ideation
- βSupport keynote messaging alignment, ensuring product language aligns with broader brand narratives
- βMaintain exceptional editorial quality across all work
- βGuide stakeholders on copy best practices, clarity, and consistency
Requirements
- βProven experience as a copywriter, either agency or client-side (in-house)
- βStrong understanding of brand marketing channels and best practices
- βStrong familiarity with a spectrum of copy styles, from long-form content to succinct placements
- βPassion for innovative ideation and impactful work
- βExperience working in a dynamic, multi-skilled agile environment
- βMaster storyteller with a consistent tone of voice
- βAttention to detail, style, and tone
- βStrong grasp of English, sentence construction, and grammatical structure
- βExperience considering internationalisation needs in copywriting
